Machine Run Printing
A machine run is when the material is printed before it is converted into a bag. This type of printing is ideally suited for users who want larger quantities or have multiple color graphics with tight registration and lead time is not a factor. Overruns can be as high as 25% on smaller machine runs.
Post Press Printing
A post press printed bag is printed flexographically (ink) or hot stamped (a process in which foil is directly transferred by means of pressure and heat) after the material has been converted into a bag. This type of printing is ideally suited for small quantities, or rush orders. Over and under runs for post press printing 5%.
Please adhere to the following recommendations for a quality post press print job.
These restrictions do not apply to a machine run job.
1. Borders, frames, and boxes:
Placing a solid or continuous border around the artwork for the bag often causes air to become trapped. This creates a break in the border when the air bubble is forced out by the printing plate. If you desire a border or frame, place a non-continuous border or box around the art on any bag.
2. Reverses, heavy ink coverage, and screens:
The creases, folds and multiple layers on bags, especially shopping bags and gift bags, make printing large areas of solids or screens almost impossible. For flexographic printing, we will not accept artwork which is finer than a 55-line screen. We cannot hot stamp any artwork with screening. Heavy coverage combined with fine lines will not hot stamp well. We will gladly review your artwork and offer technical assistance.
3. Registration:
When printing or hot stamping small quantities with more than one color, please allow ¼” for registration between each color. This is to allow for movement of the image in any direction of up to 3/8”. Artwork with multiple colors must be reviewed before acceptance.
SRI Resin codes are provided for each of our plastic products. These codes are used to identify the type of resin material used in the product. The number assigned to each plastic allows for easy recognition of material so it can be sorted properly and to determine if your recycling facility can accept the product.
